Soap Actor Connects With Cowboy Roots

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Veteran soap actor Eric Braeden is going back to his old country roots.

Braeden, who currently stars as Victor Newman on The Young and the Restless, produced and stars in The Man Who Came Back, a Western flick set in the 1800s.

Braeden, who was born and raised in Germany, says he used to be a real rough-and-tumble cowboy back in the day and that Germans love themselves a good ol’ fashioned redneck.

He says, “There’s a huge cowboy culture in Germany. There were clubs where we would meet and dress up like cowboys and play Cowboys and Indians.”

The actor’s love for American wranglers even led him to move to Missoula, Montana, and live “like a real cowboy,” but he learned quickly that the Western way isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.

He laughs, “When you work with horses, you better watch your a. Your rear end hurts so much after nine hours on a saddle.”

The Man Who Came back comes out on DVD Tuesday (Dec. 9).
