Rookie Cop Has A Tough First Day

TAMPA, Fla. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Your first day at a new job is always stressful, especially if there are camera crews filming your every move.

For A&E’s latest reality series, Rookies, a crew followed police trainees on their first day on the beat right out of the police academy.

Officer Amy Evans of the Tampa Police Department says trying to impress her new boss while being filmed made the job “more intense.”

She says, “I wasn’t prepared for the film crew. They were there every second of my first day. They’d say, ‘Pretend like we’re not here,’ but I couldn’t.”

Now that Evans has been catching perps for a few months, she’s sure cameras could catch a lot more action than when she was a brand new rookie.

She says, “There are a lot of unexpected surprises in this job. If the film crew wants action, they can come ride with me now.”

Rookies premieres tonight (Oct. 21) on A&E.
