The New York Television Festival is happening in the Big Apple tomorrow (Sep. 12) through September 17, and spokesman Eben Russell says that TV gets a raw deal for its reputation on rugrats.
In fact, he believes like anything in moderation, television is a positive and healthy influence on kids because its often their first introduction to other cultures.
Says Russell: TV is a powerful visual medium, so its a good window for kids to see how people interact and socialize.
He argues that TV also fosters imagination with programming thats geared towards making kids more curious, and encouraging them to ask questions about their surroundings.
The New York Television Festival is free for TV fans of all ages and will be held at New World Stages.
