At least not in the office according to Pam Holland, a workplace expert for BRODY professional training and development company.
Holland says people often make the mistake of treating a day at the office like a day at the beach during the summer months, forgetting the important etiquette tips that can earn them a promotion.
Holland advises professionals climbing the corporate ladder to dress for success and avoid making a stink at the office.
She says, Were judged by the way we package ourselves. You want to look professional, but if you wear a wool suit in the middle of summer youll look crazy. Youll sweat and smell.
However, sporting a cleavage-bearing dress or a T-shirt promoting your favorite sports bar isnt likely to get you the corner office either.
Holland says office workers should wear lightweight fabrics, like cotton, in conservative styles so people talk about your confidence, not your cleavage or tattoo.
