‘Nashville Star’ Eliminee Rocks For His Navy Shipmates

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Despite being thrown overboard, it’s still smooth sailing for one Nashville Star eliminee.

Tommy Stanley – a Navy engineer from the USS Kitty Hawk – was kicked off Nashville Star this past Monday (Jul. 7), but he’ll continue to croon for his shipmates.

Stanley says his Navy buddies have always been supportive of his country music dreams and he enjoys jamming for them on the ship.

He says, “I’ll sit on the ground in the cabin and play my guitar while everyone sleeps. It doesn’t bother them, they actually really enjoy it.”

The guys enjoy Stanley’s tunes even more when they’re actually the subjects of his songs.

He explains, “I’m always making up songs about people on the ship. Sometimes I make fun of them a little bit and other times their stories inspire more serious songs. It’s so much fun.”

Nashville Star airs Mondays on NBC.
