Claws Come Out At Wild Resort

TOLEDO DISTRICT, Belize (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – An eco-friendly hotel in Belize has guests taking a walk on the wild side.

The Belize Lodge and Excursions is a 60,000-acre eco-tourism resort in the deep and secluded jungles of Belize where adventurous travelers dangle above ferocious jaguars while they sleep.

As part of the “ultimate, unique trans-habitat experience,” guests sleep in tents high above the jungle ground while a pair of killer big cats prowl below them in an enclosure.

Founder Ken Karas says, “We had the opportunity to give the jaguars a better life than living in little cages. There’s jungle all around so they feel at home.”

An observation deck above the big cats’ enclosure allows guests to catch a glimpse of the jaguars, but no one will be getting up close and personal with the fierce felines because, as Karas puts it, “They wouldn’t like it very much.”
