Think Pretty And Pink For Mom

VERO BEACH, Fla. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Pretty, pink petals are the way to Mom’s heart.

According to flower expert Brittany Streufert, who works for Florida-based company Calyx Flowers, pink tulips, roses, and orchids are all the rage this year for Mother’s Day (May 11).

She says you can’t go wrong with a traditional hue like pink, which almost all moms love.

If you want to spice things up a bit, “hotter” flower colors like bright green, orange, and purple are also a good pick for Mom, as well as big, mixed bouquets.

But whatever your flower power is, be sure to keep your Mom bouquets straight.

Streufert says it’s important to avoid giving stepmoms and birth moms the same exact bouquets on Mother’s Day, because, as she puts it, “They’re two different women with two different personalities.”

She says people should find flowers that cater specifically to their two mom’s traits, and says lavender is a good flower color for stepmom bouquets because it’s “close enough to pink.”
