The Government Needs Ganja

SAN FRANCISCO (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – A pot activist in San Francisco wants the government to love ganja.

On May 14 at the New York’s Highline Ballroom, the Marijuana Policy Project (MPP) is throwing a party to support a medical marijuana bill currently circulating around the New York State Senate.

The smokin’ soiree will feature guests like Montel Williams, Kurt Loder, and Lewis Black, who will lend his comedic chops to the prescription pot push.

Also on hand to lend his smokin’ support will be New York State Senator Joseph Bruno, and MPP spokesperson Bruce Mirken says, “You never know for sure when dealing with politicians, but we feel like we’ve got a good chance at getting this bill passed with him.”

Even with the Senator on his side, Mirken isn’t under a cloud of smoke when it comes to pot’s priority in the White House.

He says, “This isn’t the first thing the new president will deal with. There’s the economy thing, and I hear there’s still some kind of thing happening in Iraq.”
