Wednesday (Apr. 23) marks the 18th Annual KGBX Typewriter Toss, which has five hard-working women and the occasional man tossing a typewriter from a 50-foot crane to win a day off from work.
The top toss is determined by the piece of shattered typewriter that lands closest to the bullseye, and promotions director Sarah Green says the exploding equipment is a sight to see.
She says, We started off using typewriters, then switched to computer casings. But were back with typewriters they explode better.
According to Green, the more angry the employee, the worse her chances are for smashing success.
Green says, The real frustrated people might toss it too far. You need to be patient.
Although theres not much smashin strategy, Green has one piece of advice for working women.
She says, Theyre tossing stuff from pretty high up. We tell women not to wear heels.
