Save The World One Page At A Time

ASHLAND, Ore. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Saving the world takes time.

Originally published in 1990, the new version of 50 Simple Things You Can Do to Save the Earth (Hyperion), gives planet- protecting pointers on everything from rainforest conservation to solar power, and step-by-step tips to take action.

Author John Javna became “burnt out” after the book’s initial release, but thanks to his teenage kids, who co-authored the new edition, he’s back to save the world – at his own pace.

He says, “My daughter Sophie wondered why we didn’t compost at home, and I gave her some cynical answer. I’d become jaded, and I owed it to my kids to give it another shot. But it’s like turning an aircraft carrier around – nothing is going to happen overnight.”

While saving the world takes time, Javna offers some simple solutions for even the most environmentally ignorant.

He says, “Find an issue you care about and make it a part of your life. Sustained, committed change is what we need.”

50 Simple Things is now on shelves.
