For folks passing on the trick-or-treat festivities tonight (Oct. 31), horror movie maven Evil Sid Heberger, who heads the monster movie festival Trash Film Orgy in Sacramento, California, has some horrifying rental recommendations for a creepy Halloween at home.
Heberger says the original Night of the Living Dead and Evil Dead are the go-to gore movies you want to watch, but suggests steering clear from lame movies that fall short on fright factor.
Says Heberger: Movies like The Blob are cheesy and not even scary. Its hard to get really frightened by gelatinous ooze.
Though Heberger counts the classic A Nightmare on Elm Street as the best horror movie of all time, she doesnt fancy Freddie Kruegers chances in a cage match of horror villain supremacy.
She says, Between Freddie, Michael Myers, and all those guys, Id say Ash from Evil Dead would win in a cage match because hes got a chainsaw.
