World Farm Animal Day ‘Meats’ Issue Head On

BETHESDA, Md. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – For one group of animal activists, the idea of happy cows is a load of manure.

The 25th Annual World Farm Animals Day is on October 2, and activists are herding together across the country, organizing exhibits, information sessions, and marches to raise awareness of the awful atrocities farm animals are faced with.

Farm Animals Day spokesperson Dawn Moncrief is stomping her hooves and speaking out for the voiceless animals.

Moncrief says, “There’s a lot of suffering that’s unnecessary. The idea of happy cows and happy cheese is misleading.”

Moncrief cites the flagrant farm failings that allow cows to be filled with antibiotics and kept perpetually pregnant, and chickens to be dismembered while still alive.

And while Moncrief’s mission involves a protest in front of the USDA building in Washington, D.C., when it comes to getting people to see the brutality behind the burger, Moncrief is anything but cagey.

She says, “You wouldn’t eat meat if you were face to face with it. If you had to kick a dog to get a burger, you wouldn’t do it.”
