Mud Bowl Gets Players Excited To Muddy The Waters

NORTH CONWAY, N.H. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – After 32 years of playing dirty, football fiends in North Conway, New Hampshire, are suiting up for their yearly mud-flinging fun.

The 32nd Annual World Championships of Mud Football is charging into town today (Aug. 31), and eight teams from all over New England are raring and ready to get down and dirty.

Armed with only goggles, duct tape, and a hair cap, competitors play two-hand touch in the Hog Colosseum, a stadium filled with premium mud.

And while the players – who call themselves “The Brotherhood of Mud” – are clearly filthy, spokesman Tom Eastman says the teams must play nice, or else “they’ll get sent to the showers.”

But the game isn’t just for messy men – the ladies get into the action as cheerleaders, and even perform a synchronized swim routine in the muddy mess.
