Things Get Beefy In Wisconsin

MINOCQUA, Wis. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Folks in the town of Minocqua, Wisconsin, never have to ask Where’s the Beef?

That’s because more than one ton of beef will be roasted for the 43rd Annual Beef-A-Rama festival, which cooks into town September 28-29.

Roughly 12,000 carnivores will be feasting on 85 different meaty meals, and according to festival spokesperson Heather Beach, the massive smorgasbord – and the resulting meat coma – is impossible to resist.

But the chowing isn’t the only attraction, as many come to size up the beef on display.

Says Beach, “The vendors parade their beef dressed up in crazy costumes. We had a guy dressed as Superman one year, but he had a beef roast for a head. It was hilarious.”

But one place you won’t find the beef is on the floor.

Beach explains, “We’ve never had a food fight. People will wait for hours to get a beef burger. It’s just too good to throw.”
