Kids Recruited For A Punk Rock Rebellion

SANTA MONICA, Calif. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The dark days of corporate rock are upon us, and one man is building a mohawked army of minors to challenge music authority.

On September 2, punk rock lover Phil Jaurigui will be organizing the 2nd Annual Summer Strummer Festival in Santa Monica, California, where attendees of all ages will be exposed to good music that will inspire young’uns to crusade for punk rock.

The festival is attracting more than 3,000 rebel rockers for what Jaurigui calls “an old school hootenanny where hometown fair meets punk rock music festival.”

Events like skateboarding exhibitions, guitar pods where kids can rock out, and four stages where everything from punk music to alternative country will surely get the kids craving some anarchy.

According to Jaurigui, however, the anarchy will be kept to a minimum.

He says, “It’s a safe and confined family festival about bringing music to the kids. I’m trying to bring back Santa Monica’s punk cred by getting kids involved, and it’s gonna rock.”
