At least thats according to etiquette expert Peggy Post, who is judging the first ever Thank You Contest now through August 24, in honor of National Thank You Day next month.
Post was inspired to start the contest which encourages people to write a 150 word thank you letter to someone who affected their lives after she found out that 90 percent of Americans feel they dont say thank you enough.
As she puts it, Its good to instill the importance of thank yous at a young age so people carry it with them throughout their entire life this contest is a good reminder for everyone.
The most sincere thank you letter will win a sweet $20,000 prize.
Says Post: Saying thank you and sending a letter will get you ahead in life and it just makes people feel good. I say anything that brightens someones day is a good thing.
