Don’t Drop the Soap – Unless You’re Crazy

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Though it might seem odd, sometimes all it takes is a little soap to clean up a mental disorder.

Dr. Emanuel H. Bronner escaped from an insane asylum decades ago to make his own line of natural soaps before his death in 1997, and 10 years later his wacky message continues on the packaging.

Ralph Bronner, Emanuel’s brother, says the crazy success behind the family soap is that they’re madly driven by the human element instead of profit.

Bronner says, “[Emanuel] was speaking publicly at a lecture with so much intensity about how we were all ‘brothers and sisters of one ever-loving father’ when they locked him up. After his escape, his soap company was formed, and people labeled Dr. Bronner a schizoid who had undergone shock treatments.”

Still, the zany soap remains popular and not only seems to wash people, but gets them believin’ in its clean messages.

Says Bronner: “I’ve had thousands of people tell me, ‘I was an atheist until I read your label.”
