First Day Of Summer Brings Snow To Florida

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The first day of summer is this Thursday (June 21), but the folks in Tallahassee, Florida, will be experiencing a major cold front.

While most Americans will be finding ways to beat the heat, a Tallahassee Bruegger’s Bakery will transform itself into a winter wonderland of snow, complete with sleds, snowmen, and free Green Mountain Coffee Roasters iced coffee to help everyone cool off.

But turning the southeast hotspot into a snow haven won’t come effortlessly.

According to event organizer Danielle Swift, the winter wonderland will be made with hundreds of pounds of artificially generated snow that an expert Hollywood snowmaker will be creating.

The snow should last about four to five hours in the Florida heat before melting, but Swift believes that’ll be enough time to have an incredibly cool snow party and make sweet summer snow angels.

For those who can’t make it to Florida to chill out in the snow, Bruegger’s will be offering free iced coffee nationwide from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. so everyone can enjoy a little brain freeze.
