Loverboy ‘Back For More’ After 15 Years

VANCOUVER (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – After 15 years of taking it easy, the Canadian band Loverboy is ready to start “working for the weekend” again.

Loverboy – who was at the top of their game in the 1980’s – is releasing a comeback album this June titled – what else? – Back For More.

For lead singer Mike Reno, writing music again has helped him overcome the loss of his former bandmate, bassist Scott Smith, who drowned in 2000.

After his buddy’s death, Reno wasn’t sure if the band would ever be the same, but he dragged himself to rehearsal day after day hoping to create some new songs.

Inspiration finally came to Reno like “a spring time river rush,” and he was able to write a special tune titled “Stranded” about the ripples caused by the aftermath of Smith’s death.

He explains, “I’m basically stranded on this planet without him, and the song is about how hard it is for friends who are survivors of an accident.”
