Spider-Man’ Needs Yoga Lessons

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Peter Parker can contort his body into yoga-like positions to leap buildings as Spider-Man, but one yogi from Winston-Salem, North Carolina, says the superhero really needs yoga to work out his inner character.

Certified yoga instructer Christi Eley claims yoga would be Spider-Man's answer to connecting to himself.

For example, Eley points out that in Spider-Man films, the webbed crusader needs to focus more on his tangled thoughts than on chasing bad guys.

So, to find his inner spider, Eley recommends Spider-Man get into the “pose of uniqueness.”

In her words, “He should clasp his hands behind his back, bend down, and say, ‘Look at my unique qualities. Look at me! I’m shining!”’

And as it turns out, spiders and yoga have another connection.

Says Eley: “The spider pose is one of the more difficult ones [in yoga] because you have to stretch all the way back. You actually do look like a spider in a web.”

Spider-Man 3 webs it's way into theaters today (May 4).
