Spring Brings Flowers, Baseball And Bad Fashions For Men

TORONTO (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Spring brings flowers, baseball and, unfortunately, a lot of bad fashions.

Or so laments fashion expert Russell Smith, the author of Men’s Style: The Thinking Man’s Guide To Dress (Thomas Dunne).

He says spring weather is nice but, with it, comes all sorts of “style messes” made by clueless guys.

For example, Smith is a big opponent of baseball caps, and believes “they shouldn’t be worn by guys over the age of 15 – unless they’re actually playing baseball.”

In fact, Smith is resolutely against hats of any kind, except, perhaps a “boater,” a type of flat-top straw hat worn by silent film star Buster Keaton or Dick Van Dyke in Mary Poppins.

Smith also says socks never look good with shorts, mainly because they make mens’ legs look skinny and guys look shorter.

Finally, if there is one fashion mistake you should always avoid, Smith says it’s wearing a fanny pack. That is, of course, unless you’re a polar explorer or a construction worker.
