Film Fans Favor ‘The Departed’

DALLAS (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – If Oscar voters actually listen to film fans, February 25 will be a big night for The Departed, Will Smith and Meryl Streep.

According to a new survey by Blockbuster, 24 percent of film buffs want The Departed to win Best Picture on Oscar night while 22 percent prefer Little Miss Sunshine.

Meanwhile, 43 percent say Will Smith deserves a Best Actor trophy for his work in The Pursuit Of Happyness, while The Last King Of Scotland star Forest Whitaker wins 21 percent of the vote.

About 36 percent believe Meryl Streep should be Best Actress for The Devil Wears Prada, compared to 21 percent who prefer Helen Mirren’s work in The Queen.

In addition, 43 percent are picking Dreamgirls diva Jennifer Hudson as Best Supporting Actress and 20 percent want Abigail Breslin to win for Little Miss Sunshine.

Finally, 32 percent say Eddie Murphy deserves to win Best Supporting Actor for Dreamgirls, while 20 percent think Little Miss Sunshine star Alan Arkin deserves the honor.
