Scions, Acuras Are New Collector Favorites

TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – When it comes to collecting cars, Japanese models are giving European cars a run for their money.

According to McKeel Hagerty, the CEO of a classic car insurance company, Toyota Scions and Acura NSX are quickly becoming the new Ferraris and Lamborghinis to serious car collectors.

Says Hagerty: “They have funky appeal that collectors like and they stay in people’s minds.”

He also says American cars like the Dodge Viper and the Chrysler 300 are becoming the Ford Mustangs of the 21st century.

He points out that all these cars have the potential to be worth big bucks in a few years, and points out that ones that feature cool gadgets, like a GPS tracking device, will be worth more because they have “a campy, funny quality” like the laser gun automatic headlight dimmers found on some cars from the 1950s.
