Thats the fear of Justin Wilson, spokesman for the Center for Consumer Freedom, a coalition of restaurants and food companies.
He says lawyers specializing in obesity cases may help Santa Claus sue the millions of American families who offer jolly St. Nick junk food and cookies on Christmas Eve.
In order to protect families from Kris Kringles legal team, the CCF is offering a Christmas Cookie Liability and Indemnification Agreement.
The document includes clauses for Claus to sign so he wont sue you for failing to provide information about the cookies ingredients, or forgetting to warn him that eating too many cookies can lead to obesity.
Still, Wilson says its silly that theres a need for the waiver.
Says Wilson: By now, Santa should know that when he eats a cookie, its not exactly nutritious. The agreement helps him realize that.
Families expecting Santa this Christmas can get a copy of the forms at www.consumerfreedom.com.
