‘Hips Don’t Lie’ Most Downloaded Lyric Of Year

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Shakira may be a poet and not even know it.

But that isn’t stopping her fans from downloading her lyrics to read the finer points of her rhymes.

According to a survey by Yahoo! Search, Shakira’s collaboration with Wyclef Jean, “Hips Don’t Lie,” was the No. 1 downloaded lyric of 2006, beating out other poetic masterpieces such as “My Humps” by the Black Eyed Peas and “Grillz” by Nelly.

Other lyrics that struck a chord with net nerds include the Rhianna hit “Unfaithful,” “Bad Day” by Daniel Powter; and “Beep,” a collaboration between the Pussycat Dolls and Will.I.Am of the Black Eyed Peas.

Meanwhile, “Laffy Taffy” by D4L, which concerns the plight of strippers with stretched-out labias, was also a popular search, followed by “What Hurts The Most” by Rascal Flatts and “Unwritten,” which was a hit for Natasha Bedingfield.
