Professional Domino Association Gets Ready To Rumble

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Dominoes isn’t just a quiet family game anymore, now there’s a Professional Domino Association – and the players are anything but square.

That’s the word from Jay King, founder of the Professional Domino Association (PDA), who says domino players are very saucy and funny people.

Says King, who led ’80s era funk bands Club Nouveau and Timex Social Club before starting the league: “Dominoes is a tough sport, where you not only have to use strategy and math skills, but you also have to know how to trash-talk your opponent.”

He adds, “You have to psyche out your opponent and send them crying to the boneyard to collect dominoes when they can’t play off the hand they have.”

King expects a lot of verbal mockery this Saturday (Oct.28), when the PDA hosts its ranking tournament to determine who will compete in the 2007 PDA official tournament.

Not all the players will make it to the 2007 tournament team, but King insists those who get cut train hard and try again next year.
