New Show Doesn’t Sugarcoat Death

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – A new reality show on Court TV leaves very little to the imagination – even death.

It’s called Most Shocking and features real footage from police car chases, hostage situations and shoot- offs.

While other shows refrain from showing actual deaths on TV, executive producer Debra Weeks says her program features every gun shot.

However, she’s quick to point out that it is edited in a “very sensitive way” and adds: “We don’t hide the fact that sometimes cops and criminals or bad guys die.”

In fact, the producers says they don’t make it a point to show death and says some of the more dramatic shows are the ones where police officers are able to survive extraordinary circumstances.

For example, one segment show how an officer shot at point blank range 20 times is able to get on his radio, describe his attackers and still live to tell the tale.

Weeks says it’s stories like this that make Most Shocking unique and not necessarily the tragic deaths.

Most Shocking premieres Wednesday (Oct. 4) on Court TV.
