‘Blair Witch’ Director Gets Creepy Online Auditions From Web-based Casting Call

PASADENA, Calif. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The co-director of the Blair Witch Project knows something about shooting creepy, homemade video, but now he’s dealing with some really scary stuff: online audition videos.

Dan Myrick is currently hosting an open casting call online at www.theobjective.com and asking undiscovered actors to submit short, digital audition clips in hopes of landing a role in Myrick’s upcoming movie, The Objective.

Myrick says the lengths to which some of these wannabe thespians “will go to make a memorable – or what they think is memorable – impression” can be pretty weird.

He adds: “I’m talking full battle fatigues, ridiculously extravagant props – just to make a short audition clip of two minutes or less.”

The strangest video clip Myrick’s seen so far was, in his words: “The guy who read everything as if it was Shakespearean theater, with the English accent and all. He really didn’t get what we’re looking for.”
