Country Singer Bushwhacks President Bush

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – President George W. Bush is getting bushwhacked by some of the members of his core supporters: Country music fans.

At least one of them: A singer-songwriter in St. Augustine, Florida, named Rick Levy, who has turned his disgust towards “Dubya” into a new concept CD called The Bushwhackers.

The album is traditional country to the max, including a few drinking songs.

But the lyrics aren’t exactly filled with the traditional support of the president’s policies usually associated with country music fans.

For instance, one tune, “He Swapped The Bottle For The Bible,” has lyrics like A few more years, we won’t have to see his silly grin/ We’d be so much better off if he was three sheets to the wind.

Although country songs tend to be conservative, Levy said he thinks it is better suited for satire than rock “which everyone takes so seriously.”

So far, the anti-Bush album is getting positive reviews – even from Bush fans who like the music – but Levy admits one critic in the Netherlands criticized it for “not being angry enough.”
