‘Rock Star’ Reject Remains Unrepentant Head Bobbler

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Although excessive head- bobbling helped singer Phil Ritchie get kicked off Rock Star: Supernova, he refuses to give up his trademark habit.

Ritchie says he’s always bobbled his head while he sings and was surprised it inspired such contentious reactions in Supernova members Tommy Lee, who liked it, and Jason Newsted, who didn’t.

He doesn’t believe his bobbling head affected his performances, but admits he wasn’t able to be himself because contestants are required to sing songs that, as he puts it, “You don’t always feel crazy about.”

Although Ritchie believes the band has a certain idea for their sound, he wonders why the band is auditioning people who don’t fit their style, offering diverse candidates who don’t have a chance to win but have broader ratings appeal.

Still, Ritchie doesn’t hold a grudge against Supernova and thinks his current band, Lennex, would be a great opening act.

As he puts it, “I’ve heard some of the music they’re working on and it sounds modern. They’re definitely not going back to the hair bands.”
