Rapper-Turned-Actor Uses Himself As Inspiration For Vampire Role

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – When rapper-turned-actor Kirk “Sticky” Jones needed inspiration to play a vampire killer, he just had to look in the mirror.

Jones is a former member of the rap group Onyx and currently plays Blade on the Spike TV drama of the same name.

He says he relates to the character’s struggle because, as he puts it, “[Blade] is bent on revenge. In fact, he’s so bent on revenge that he doesn’t realize he’s bent on revenge.”

He relates to that approach to life. As Jones puts it, “All I do is work, work, work.”

Although Jones is a seasoned actor, he admits the role required a certain adjustment for him, mainly all the wire work.

However, he insists he’s not afraid of heights and now gets disappointed “when I don’t have to get into a harness for a scene.”

Blade airs Wednesdays on Spike TV.
