In The Dating World, A Smile And Hello Goes A Long Way

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – If TV dating shows teach us anything, it’s that the secret to finding love lies in a simple smile.

At least that’s the hope of self-proclaimed “Love Coach” JD Roberto, the co-host of a new reality show, How To Get The Guy.

The show features Roberto helping four 30-something women find love in all the wrong and right places.

Although some people might think they need fancy lines to get lucky, Roberto insists that the “most successful pick-up line of all time is hello.”

However, men don’t realize that because, in his words, “All of us guys feel like we are the geeks we were back in high school” and see all potential dates as the “cheerleader we would never get.”

Women don’t help matters, in part, because they don’t realize how hard it is for a guy to work up the courage to walk across the room and start a conversation and, when he does, they “sit there all down on themselves.”

Roberto says “guys interpret that as not being interested” and, as he points out, “It’s such a self-fulfilling prophecy - the women think they are undesirable and the guys don’t think the girls want them.”

How To Get The Guy debuts Monday (Jun. 12) on ABC.
