Jewel Collaborator Poltz Offers ‘Camping With Two Psychos’

SAN DIEGO (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Steve Poltz is best known as Jewel’s ex-songwriting Svengali, and now he wants to take you camping.

Poltz is a San Diego-based songwriter who cowrote Jewel’s mega-hit “You Were Meant For Me,” and he’s also written songs with some of America’s most respected singer- songwriters.

Now, his latest project is a songwriting workshop with his friend, Tim Bluhm of the Mother Hips, that will take place late July in California’s Sierra Nevada mountains.

Since Poltz and Jewel reportedly wrote their biggest hit while in their skivvies during a Mexico camping trip, he’s planning to keep the tradition alive during the upcoming workshop.

As he puts it, “Tim is already wearing Jewel’s bikini, he’s ready to go.”

The campfire composition workshop is limited to only 11 people and costs a whopping $1195 per person.

Poltz admits the high cost is “to keep out the riff- raff” and ensure that the only “two psychos on the trip are Tim and me.”
