St. Louis Tops Cities For Grilling

CHICAGO (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Folks in St. Louis, Missouri, don’t mind getting grilled at home – as long as it’s for dinner.

According to a survey by Kingsford Charcoal, St. Louis is the No. 1 city for grilling in the United States, based on annual sales of charcoal, barbecue sauce, grills and picnic ware.

St. Louis is closely followed by Des Moines, Iowa, then Tampa/ St. Petersburg, Florida, followed by Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Interestingly, both Des Moines and Grand Rapids ranked among the least grilling cities in last year’s survey.

Meanwhile, that dubious honor goes this year to Harrisburg/ Scranton, Pennsylvania, which ranks No. 60, just behind Buffalo/ Rochester, New York, and Oklahoma City.

Finally, Boston is the most popular city for charcoal grills – while St. Louis is America’s top city for barbecue sauce sales.
