‘Plan 9’ Star Never Planned For Worldwide Fame

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Being in one of the worst movies of all time can be better for your career than being in some of the best.

That’s how its worked for actor Gregory Walcott, who is the leading man in Plan 9 From Outer Space, Ed Wood’s cheesy sci-fi classic from 1959.

As Walcott puts it, “That movie has kept my name alive around the world more than the movies I did with Clint Eastwood and Steven Spielberg.”

Not bad, considering Walcott knew from the first day of the shoot that Plan 9 was a clunker and tried to leave it off his resume – until relatively recently.

That’s when his kids convinced him “the film was going to stick around for a while.”

Plan 9 From Outer Space has just been reissued in a colorized version that is traveling to various theaters and Walcott has just seen it for the first time in years.

He says that even though the technical values are terrible, the movie has good moral values, such as extraterrestrials who worship God and a scathing attack against nuclear proliferation.
