Australian Adventurer Fuels Up With Whiskey And Garbage

SYDNEY, Australia (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – An Australian Eco- Adventurer doesn’t drink and drive – but he lets the drink drive him.

Shaun Murphy recently drove a 32-foot-long stretch Hummer limo from Los Angeles to San Francisco, using nothing but corn whiskey to fuel his journey.

But the liquored-up leg was just the last part of a 16,000 mile journey across the United States that was done without a single drop of gasoline.

Instead, Murphy and his girlfriend used 12 different fuels on their eight-month journey, including sugar, garbage and five different kinds of food.

Murphy says he had a gas on his no-gas trip, and portions of it will air on Cool Fuel, a two-hour special airing Saturday (Apr. 22) on the Science Channel in honor of Earth Day.

If the show burns up the ratings charts, Murphy hopes to fund a sequel since, as he points out, “There are still 10-15 fuels we haven’t used.”
