Thats the word from Senior Writer Kim Eskew of PromAdvice.com, a website that offers tips on choosing a personalized ensemble to fit every belle like a glass slipper.
Whats gratifying for Eskew is to be able to pass on priceless prom tips that she learned the hard way.
A self-described reader geek, she says that even by 1989 style standards, her own black-and-white, polka dot prom miniskirt was awful.
Also, future promgoers should learn from Eskews mistake and leave the home perm at home. She says she was convinced to get a perm from hell, and describes the curly do as her crowning failure.
Today, she gives teens a dressing down and recommends they wear clothes that give them confidence, or, in her words make them feel like having a ball.
