Tony Funderburg, General Manager for The Gateway Grizzlies, a minor league team based in Sauget, Illinois, says the ballparks concession stand introduces a new food item every year.
This year its a savory-sweet snack called Baseballs Best Burger. Its an all-beef Black Angus burger topped with sharp cheddar cheese and two slices of bacon, all placed between a Krispy Kreme Original Glazed doughnut split in two.
The coronary-inducing treat will be available when the teams season starts in May, and Funderburg is first to admit the fat and calorie-laden burger doesnt fit into the healthy category.
Still, he explains, There are some people who only go to one game a year. This is something you treat yourself to.
He points out, Ive actually had quite a few of them, and after having his cholesterol level checked recently, he insists, Everythings looking good.
