Krispy Kreme Doughnut Burger To Steal The Hearts Of Baseball Fans

SAUGET, Ill. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – One baseball stadium concession stand hopes to knock it out of the park with their new bacon cheddar cheeseburger stuffed into a glazed Krispy Kreme doughnut.

Tony Funderburg, General Manager for The Gateway Grizzlies, a minor league team based in Sauget, Illinois, says the ballpark’s concession stand introduces a new food item every year.

This year it’s a savory-sweet snack called “Baseball’s Best Burger.” It’s an all-beef Black Angus burger topped with sharp cheddar cheese and two slices of bacon, all placed between a Krispy Kreme Original Glazed doughnut split in two.

The coronary-inducing treat will be available when the team’s season starts in May, and Funderburg is first to admit the fat and calorie-laden burger doesn’t fit into the “healthy” category.

Still, he explains, “There are some people who only go to one game a year. This is something you treat yourself to.”

He points out, “I’ve actually had quite a few of them,” and after having his cholesterol level checked recently, he insists, “Everything’s looking good.”
