Cincinnati Engineer Has A Hand In Nearly Every Packaged Hot Dog

CINCINNATI, Ohio (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Hot dog! There’s a man in Cincinnati who’s had his hand on nearly every sausage, wiener or hot dog on the market.

His name is Bill Harrison and he’s the chief engineer of Planet Products, which makes the SP3 Next Generation Loader, a device that allows hot dogs, beef sticks and taquitos to be packaged safe and snug.

Since the machine is used by every major hot dog manufacturer including Oscar Meyer and Ballpark Franks, that means Harrison can’t go anywhere without seeing traces of his work.

It wasn’t easy creating the product. Harrison says the hot dog may look symmetrical but he reveals, “There’s no perfectly shaped dog. It’s like a jelly cylinder.”

As a result of his dogged determination, Harrison and Planet Products have been chosen the Autodesk Inventor of the Month, which the software company gives out to “innovators who are turning great ideas into reality.”
