Inventors Hall of Fame Puts Designs On New Inductees

AKRON, Ohio (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The inventors of some everyday items will finally get their due as they are inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame this year.

This year’s inductees will officially be announced Feb. 8, and to get into the Hall of Fame, a spokeswoman says the inventors had to have created “something that has changed our lives.”

Some of this year’s inventions include Gore-Tex Fabric; the internet protocol; fiberglass; the coaxial cable; controlled drug delivery, used in medications; and the intravascular stent.

Awards ceremonies for the inductees will be held May 5 and 6, where they will receive medallions and have plaques hung in the National Inventors Hall of Fame located in Akron, Ohio.
