Disastrous Honeymoon Story Wins Couple A Second Chance

TULSA, Okla. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The honeymoon isn’t over for one couple whose sob story won them an expenses paid honeymoon.

Jeff and Rhonda West of Bessemer City, North Carolina, are the winners of the Honeymoon Disaster story contest from Thrifty car rental.

The couple of 16 years was supposed to spend their honeymoon in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, but while driving, their ’68 Camaro had a blowout.

Jeff got out to fix the flat while his wife sat in the car, but he forgot to set the parking break and the vehicle rolled down a hill.

West says his wife was in tears, but everything worked out – that is, until they got to their hotel and found out it had burned down the day before, sending their honeymoon up in smoke.

If that wasn’t enough, in the time they spent at the front desk of a motel to find out there were no vacancies, their car was stolen out of the parking lot.

West says the inn scrounged up a room for them, and the next day they headed home.

Luckily, they’ll get a second honeymoon paid for by Thrifty, which they’ve decided to spend in Las Vegas.
