Real-Life Polar Express Tour Takes Off This Saturday (Dec. 17)

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Visiting the North Pole to meet Santa Claus in person isn’t just the plot of the movie The Polar Express, it will be a real-life experience for 12 lucky tourists next week.

The Colorado-based Beyond Boundaries Travel company hosts an annual trip to the “North Pole” where tourists get to meet Santa in person, see his workshop and even take a sleigh ride with real reindeer.

Santa’s elves even show up, greeting visitors on sleighs.

Tour spokesman Jeannie Barresi admits the tour doesn’t go all the way to the top of the world but it does go to a part of Finland – which is pretty darn close – while still offering spas and hotels.

Although some kids can get pretty cranky after such a long journey, Barresi says no one has ever misbehaved on previous tours and figures it’s because “nobody’s ever naughty when they’re seeing Santa.”

The tour takes off Dec. 17 and a second trip follows on Dec. 21.
