Game Creator Overcomes Sophomore Slump With ‘Controversy!’

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – After the success of his first hit board game, So Sue Me!, a New York game creator saw only one topic fitting enough for his next effort – Controversy.

According to New York Game Factory founder Joel Rogers, So Sue Me! – a board game about frivolous lawsuits – “tapped into some kind of controversial thing,” so when he was challenged to develop a concept for a new game, it was like “a cartoon character sitting on a ladder thinking, ‘How can I climb up on the roof?’”

His newest game Controversy! lets friends and family members argue about “serious stuff like evolution and gun control,” but also lets players guess others’ views on thought-provoking subjects such as whether it’s possible to love a stuffed animal or if anyone looks good in a Speedo.

While some people might get fired up about topics like these, Rogers doesn’t foresee anyone coming to blows over the game.

He jokes, “Will there be a shooting over this? I don’t know. We have our disclaimers.”
