Laurie David To Try Her Best To Make Environmental Issues Funny

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – There’s nothing funny about the world’s environmental troubles, but Laurie David, wife of Seinfeld and Curb Your Enthusiasm creator Larry David, sure thinks there is.

David has organized a two-hour comedy special called Earth To America, which airs on TBS Nov. 20, that features stand-up comedy, videotaped vignettes and comedy sketches about issues concerning the environment like global warming.

David admits getting people to laugh at environmental issues will be tough, but insists, “We’re going to meet the challenge.”

That may be considered a bold statement until you look at the list of the show’s scheduled performers. It includes the likes of Cedric The Entertainer, Ben Stiller, Robin Williams, and Wanda Sykes.

David believes with the performers’ talents and the help of her husband, who she calls a “comedy god,” folks will finally see what bad shape the environment is in and will want to do something about it.

In her words, “Comedy is one of the best ways to bring attention to an issue.”
