Later this week, Dees will start something called RickFM, a new format featuring only songs that were No. 1 hits. The format features songs with a connection to each other as well as Dees commenting about the tunes after every few hits.
He figures its a better alternative to just playing music with no introductions.
Initially, RickFM will be featured at his new website, Rick.com, a website that features 50 different music channels including his syndicated radio show, Weekly Top 40 Countdown.
But while Dees is looking towards the future, hes not exactly running away from his past. Next year marks the 30th anniversary of his No. 1 hit, Disco Duck, and hes looking for a way to celebrate because, he jokes, I still have a bunch of copies in the trunk of my car.
