‘Desperate Housewives’ Going Through Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes?

SANTA FE, N.M. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The tears, mood swings and restless nights suffered by the ladies on Desperate Housewives may not be due to the drama in their lives.

It could be a sign they’re entering menopause.

That’s the theory of women’s health expert Ann Louise Gittleman, author of Hot Times (Penguin Group), a new menopause manual.

She says that perimenopause – which precedes “the change” – can start to affect women as early as their mid-30s and she says it’s when “the most severe symptoms happen.”

Although 30-year-old Eva Longoria probably isn’t getting hot flashes yet, Gittleman thinks Felicity Huffman, Marcia Cross, and Teri Hatcher are close to menopause and “....wouldn’t be so desperate if they used the right hormones.”

Gittleman, who states her age as “....old enough to know” – recommends the ladies of Wisteria Lane slather on topical progesterone cream to rev up their libidos and add flax seed to their diet because it’s a natural estrogen modulator.

But flax seed isn’t good for every part of menopause. Gittleman says using flax seed oil as a lubricant will only make matters worse, because, she explains, “It tends to go rancid.”
