Oddsmakers Say Turner, Edwards On NFL Hot Seat

MONTREAL, Quebec (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Oakland Raiders and New York Jets fans may be stoked for the upcoming season, but oddsmakers aren’t putting a lot of faith in their coaches.

Online sports book,, believes Raiders’ head coach Norv Turner is the odds on favorite to become the first AFC head coach to resign or be fired this season with 3 to 1 odds.

Following Turner, is Jets’ head coach Herman Edwards, who is getting 5 to 1 odds that he’ll be canned, while Dick Vermeil, head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs, is the third favorite to be let go at 6 to 1 odds.

On the other hand, New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick shouldn’t fear losing his job, according to oddsmakers. His odds of termination are at 25 to 1.

Other head coaches who don’t need to worry about getting the heave-ho include Pittsburgh Steelers’ Bill Cowher and Nick Saban of the Miami Dolphins, who are at 25 to 1 odds as well.
