According to hypnotist Travis Fox, some folks fake it because they figure that theyre on stage and need to give a performance whether they are actually hypnotized or not.
He says the tell-tale signs of someone not truly hypnotized is if theyre acting way over the top in whatever theyre requested to do and also, they lack glazed-over eyes one of the key signs that someone is in a hypnotic state.
Folks faking it may be more common than you think. Fox says he has a 70 to 80 percent success rate for truly putting someone under within three minutes leaving the rest to decide if they want to go along with a dog barking-like request or not.
Fox wont be faking it when he appears on the ABC soap opera One Life To Live today (Aug. 11) and tomorrow. He plays what else? a hypnotist.
