No Rehearsal Needed For Football Player-Turned Actor

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Bill Romanowski may not have the most lines in The Longest Yard but he definitely had the longest rehearsal time.

The former Oakland Raiders linebacker makes his film debut in the comedy and is proud that his performance is one reason why the football scenes in the movie look so brutal.

In his words, “In some ways, I didn’t have to act. It was the role I played for the last 16 years of my life.”

Romanowski says there was one scene where the quarterback faked a pitch out and admits he nailed the stunt Q.B. three times in a row “really, really hard.”

Although Romanowski doesn’t remember exactly who took the blows for star Adam Sandler, he says it’s safe to assume the stunt quarterback remembers who hit him.

The Longest Yard opens in theaters on Friday (May 27).
