Toilet Handle May Be The Cleanest Item In London’s Hotels

LONDON (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Quick, which is more filthy: The handle on a hotel room toilet or the mugs used for the room’s complimentary coffee?

A new survey of London hotels shows the mugs have the toilet flusher beat when it comes to harboring icky, sickly germs.

Almost two-thirds of the London hotel room mugs failed cleanliness tests conducted by a microbiologist working with Holiday Which? magazine – and a fair amount included fecal germs.

By contrast, only one of the toilet handles in the survey came up contaminated.

Mugs are the No. 1 most contaminated item in London hotels, out-yucking toilet seats, sink basins and light switches.

On a positive note, the launderers in London’s hotels seem to be doing a bang up job. None of the bedsheets tested failed the cleanliness report and the towels were among the cleanest items in the rooms.
